Remove any dirt, algae, or barnacles—especially from the hull. A clean boat makes inspection easier and helps prevent scratches during transport.
Take off or secure anything not permanently attached, including:
Cushions, Coolers, Electronics, Fishing rods, Anchors, Canvas covers and snap-on enclosures (these can come loose on the road)
Make sure all cabin doors, hatches, and windows are latched or taped shut to prevent damage. Lock compartments if needed.
If your boat is tall, we may need to lower or remove parts to stay within road height limits. We'll advise you ahead of time based on your boat model.
Drain the bilge, water tanks, and live wells to reduce weight. We recommend having 1/4 tank or less of fuel in the boat.
To avoid electrical issues during transport, disconnect the battery and secure the cables.
Take clear photos of your boat from multiple angles before pickup. Note any scratches, dings, or cracks.
Let us know your boat’s height, width, and length (including the trailer, if applicable) so we can plan accordingly.
If you're unsure about anything, just give us a call. We're happy to help walk you through the prep.
